Dry Cuticle problems?

Cuticles work hard: They protect the sensitive space between where your skin ends and your fingernail begins from damage and infection. Because the skin here is so delicate, it's easy for it to become dry and damaged, leading to cracking, peeling and ripping that is uncomfortable and unattractive.

Coconut oil is a good moisturizer for dry cuticles, and it helps strengthen the cuticletissue. To apply a coconut oil treatment, rub a pea-sized amount generously over each of your cuticles. Insert your hands into plastic gloves and let the oil sink in for five to 10 minutes before removing the gloves. Brittle nails and dry cuticles can result from nail biting that can damage the bed on which the nail grows. Cuts on the cuticles can result in infections from bacteria that get under the nail. Keep nails and cuticles clean and dry after washing. Clip dry hangnails, which are made of dead skin. Because it's largely compulsive, cuticle-picking can be a tough habit to break, so it's important to become conscious of it and actively work to stop. First, put down the cuticle nippers and leave cuticle cutting to the professionals. Instead, push your cuticles back with a cuticle pusher or orange stick.
